About Our 7.5 Tonne Horseboxes

Here at Dave Barnes Horseboxes we take care and pride in every horsebox that we have built. We carefully select low mileage chassis with full service history which are initially inspected and serviced by a qualified mechanic, this is done prior to the start of the build to ensure the reliability of each new horsebox. All of our 7.5 tonne horseboxes have an integrated tilt cab, battery isolator switch, 240 volt hook up, leisure batteries with an onboard charging system and the latest diesel heating system. Each horsebox is given a beautiful modern coachwork by an experienced team of painters, guaranteed to make your new purchase the talk of all your friends.

The living accomodation in our 7.5 tonne horsebox has been thoughtfully designed with each individual interior finished to an extremely high standard in Cherry Oak. There is comfortable accomodation for four people with a seating area and a removable table, all complemented by wooden flooring, a padded ceiling with mood lighting.  Unlike our competitors, we do not beleve in hidden added extras, our standard specification includes leather uphostery (including the cab), wardrobe space, microwave cooker, fridge, sink, TV/DVD and a luxurious bathroom with toilet and shower. You can see our exacting standards are maintained throughtout the build when you inspect the craftsmanship of our horseboxes, we are sure you'll agree.

The horse area was a priority for Cathy, as a competition rider she realises the benefits for her horses to be transported as comfortably and safely as possible. The hydraulic ramp can be a real benefit, especially for those who attend events alone. However, as attention to detail is so important to Cathy and Dave, they have added a manual ramp override (optional extra). This means that in the eventuality of power failure the ramp can be manually raised or lowered by means of a hydaulic lever. The ramp has a one peice rubber mat with rubber slats leading to 5' stock gates with padded H partitions and separate headboards, which can be positioned to give you more room whilst tacking up. The floor area is fully drained with a thick rubber mat to the horse floor with kick boarding and easy clean walls and ceiling incorporating side tinted barred windows. Other internal features include internal lighting, loading light, rug rack and internal tie rings.To complement the horse area there are also external tie rings with two large tack lockers with saddle and bridle racks and a digital safe for your money, keys and mobile phone whilst riding.
